Swatch - New Tunisian Stitch
By Brianna on Jun 9, 2007 in Swatches
Do you want to name this tunisian stitch I’ve developed? (I say “developed” because of all the stitch dictionaries that include tunisian stitch and stitch patterns, I have not seen this.) E-mail or comment to let me know your name suggestions!
The base of the swatch is tks (tunisian knit stitch), but the obvious two columns of stitchwork are my own design. On a larger hook (for this I used a 6mm with a worsted) this would definitely give a gorgeous lace effect. I will likely include this in a future design, but right now I’m putting it aside so that I can work on others.
Has anyone noticed that I sort of bailed on distributing that free hat pattern? Yeah, I thought you might. I assume you did, anyway, and if you didn’t, it’s not a big deal. Hat pattern? What hat pattern?
Right. So, I had promised to release this pattern, and then it just fell apart in testing. Proof that testers are dang-near a requirement when designing. If your testers can’t duplicate what you did, and what your notes tell you that you did, then there’s no pattern.
Them’s the breaks, folks.
So, for now I will just placate everyone with pretty swatches and fluffy posts about…fluffy stuff.

It is rather like a fish bone, or a spine of some sort. Very clever of you to point that out!
