The Crochet Side

I have been so very busy with work, which is always interfering with college courses, and so there was no crochet today. My girlfriend, the ever amazing photographer Caryn Drexl, has been going nuts with the polymer clay today. She’s been designing buckles for me to use on hats, which is (a) great, and (b) scary. If she keeps going on like she has been I’ll be crocheting nothing but Buckle Cloche’s.

Speaking of that: I will be offering a limited (you hear me, Caryn? Li-mi-ted.) number of customized Buckle Cloche’s. The client will pick the color yarn and the buckle/belt design, as well as giving me their head circumference. From there it’s just gravy. Or, well–from there it’s a hat. These will be offered through Etsy for ease. If I had a shopping cart set-up here then I could probably offer it here instead, but meh.

Last night I spent a couple of hours scouring eBay and Google Image for vintage hats. I draw a lot of inspiration from older styles and last night there were some great finds. Sketches have been made, images have been saved. Now I just need to find the time.
