Jules Wrap Jules Scarf
Designed by Brianna Mewborn

Jules is a Tunisian crochet pattern using size 2, Fingering, weight yarn with a 6.5mm (K) afghan/Tunisian hook.

Often times, when it comes to my designs, I have the design in mind first, and then I am forced to locate yarn that is suitable. This time I was lucky enough to have the yarn first, to be inspired second, and have the skill to meld the two into this multi-functional accessory.

Jules was inspired by the yarn—a gorgeous, hand-dyed yarn in one of my favorite colors by an indie-dyer friend, Julie, of 1,000 Petals. Jules…Julie…you get it, right? I know you do. A nod to the person responsible.

To be completely honest, I’m not sure if this design would exist without Julie’s gift. Maybe it would, but it wouldn’t be so gorgeous, showcased in that blue. Is that too biased? I’m putting my foot down right now and saying no.

“No.”

The images throughout the pattern show Jules in only two of the ways you can wear it—as a shoulder wrap, and as a scarf. Who is to say that you’re limited there? I say why not use the small size as a head-kerchief; the larger size as a belt or hip-wrap over jeans?

Do not limit yourself or this pattern and Jules will stay with you for years.
